Big Give Update
We are delighted to have completed our Big Give challenge which was a tremendous success to bring 2020 to a close. We would like to give a special thanks to our online supporters who helped us reach our £2,050 target. We were thrilled to have attracted 35 new supporters who gave generously to our cause. This year, we were Champion funded by Waterloo Foundation (International) which helped us to reach our target and mission!
Funds raised from the Christmas Challenge will go towards a borehole well in Ambohibory, a rural village in Madagascar.
Access to a borehole well is incredible news for the Ambohibory community. It means women will have more time on their hands for other tasks, young people have a higher chance of staying and succeeding in school rather than spending time collecting water and it means an improved overall level of health throughout the community.
Members of the Ambohibory community have shared their eagerness to ensure active participation in the community’s development process. “We are ready to contribute to the project and ensure the infrastructure is sustainably managed.”
This borehole will benefit 120 inhabitants in 28 households, as well as 130 pupils at the Primary School. Three village maintenance technicians will be trained and a water management committee put in place to manage the borehole and to raise awareness among the community.
Thanks to everyone who supported our Big Give Christmas Challenge. We look forward to updating you on the completed project.
